Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 0.39 percent at 16,207, S&P 500 futures were down 0.33 percent at 1,936.25 and Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.24 percent at 4,244.75.

XPO said it would buy trucking and logistics company Con-way for $3 billion, including debt, making it the second largest provider of less-than-truckload services in North America.
