NEW YORK (Reuters) - Denver Nuggets forward Nene was continuing his rehabilitation from the removal of a testicular tumor a week ago that the club said was malignant but had not spread before the player underwent surgery.

The club said in a statement on its Web site that a biopsy showed the malignancy but "the cancer was isolated and did not spread."

"The tumor was discovered in the very early stages and the recovery rate is extremely high. In addition, the odds of recurrence are very small," Tuesday's statement continued.

The team added that Nene was doing well but no timetable had been set for the 25-year-old Brazilian's return to action.
