DETROIT (Reuters) - Alex Burrows scored 27 seconds into overtime to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday and leave the Stanley Cup champions still searching for their first home win.
In past years, the Joe Louis Arena has been a fortress for the Red Wings who had the best home record in the NHL last season at 29-9-3 but Detroit fans have had little to celebrate this young campaign following two home defeats.

Ryan Kesler, Mason Raymond and Denmark's Jannik Hansen, with his first career NHL goal, all scored in regulation for the Canucks, who improved their record to 3-1.
Tomas Holmstrom, with his fourth of the season and Brian Rafalski converted power play chances and Dan Cleary scored on breakaway to give Detroit a 3-2 lead after two periods.
But Vancouver leveled early in the third when Raymond finished off a three-on-one break setting the stage for Burrows, who slammed home his own rebound off the backboards to give the Canucks victory. Continued...
