TransCanada to build gas pipeline in British Columbia

(Reuters) - TransCanada Corp (TRP.TO), Canada’s No. 1 pipeline company, said it will build and operate an estimated C$4 billion pipeline that will transport natural gas from the Montney region in British Colombia to an export facility near Kitimat.

TransCanada was selected by Shell Canada Ltd to design, build, own and operate the proposed Coastal GasLink project, which will run about 700 kilometers.

The liquefied natural gas export facility in Kitimat, an LNG Canada project, is a joint venture led by Shell Canada, with partners Korea Gas Corp (036460.KS), Mitsubishi Corp (8058.T) and PetroChina Co Ltd (601857.SS).
