Canada economy adds 11,900 jobs in September; unemployment rate down

(Reuters) - Canada’s economy added 11,900 jobs in September, as a jump in full-time work outweighed a drop in part-time positions, Statistics Canada said on Friday.

The unemployment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points to a lower-than-expected 6.9 percent in September, the lowest rate in nearly five years, as fewer youths looked for work.
