Canada October building permits unexpectedly rise 0.7 percent

Dec 8, Reuters - The value of Canadian building permits unexpectedly climbed 0.7 percent in October from the previous month, following a revised 12.5 percent gain in September, Statistics Canada data indicated on Monday.

Non-residential construction intentions increased by 2.4 percent, led by the industrial and institutional components. The residential sector edged down by 0.4 percent, led by multi-family dwellings.
