TSX ends up as banks and energy stocks gain

TORONTO (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index ended higher on Tuesday as banks and energy companies rose after solid North American economic data.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 161.65 points or 1.12 percent at 14,594.03.
