Value of Canada building permits up 6 percent in December

(Reuters) - The value of Canadian building permits increased by 6.0 percent in December from November, Statistics Canada said on Wednesday.

The residential sector saw a record high in the multi-family component, while the commercial component in the non-residential sector also registered a record high. The value of building permits rose in six provinces, with British Columbia posting the largest gain.
