Canada added 35,400 jobs in January as hiring increased in the trade, transportation and utilities and professional and business services sectors, according to a report from ADP released on Thursday.

The report, which is jointly developed with Moody’s Analytics, is derived from ADP’s payrolls data of about 40,000 companies. The December data was revised to show jobs fell 20,900 rather than a 13,000 decline.
