CANADA FX-C$ weakens after GDP data shows economy contracted

TORONTO, May 29 (Reuters) - The Canadian dollar weakened on Friday after data showed that the economy contracted in the first quarter of the year.

The Canadian dollar was at C$1.2507 to the greenback, or 79.96 U.S. cents, weaker than Thursday’s close of C$1.2435, or 80.42 U.S. cents. (Reporting by Alastair Sharp)
