TORONTO, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index rose in early trade on Friday, led by heavyweight financial and energy stocks as oil prices rallied.
The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 59.14 points, or 0.43 percent, to 13,888.11 shortly after the open. Nine of its 10 main groups gained. (Reporting by Alastair Sharp; Editing by Meredith Mazzilli)
