TORONTO, Dec 22 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index opened slightly higher on Thursday, as gains for heavyweight energy stocks offset slips for big insurers and gold miners.
The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 4.27 points, or 0.03 percent, at 15,310.16 shortly after the open. Half of its 10 main groups gained. (Reporting by Alastair Sharp; Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
