TORONTO, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index fell on Tuesday as a drop in commodity prices weighed on the shares of materials and energy companies.
The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index unofficially closed down 72.93 points, or 0.45 percent, at 16,298.88. Eight of the index’s 10 main groups ended lower. (Reporting by Fergal Smith; Editing by Leslie Adler)
