Jan 31 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index opened higher on Thursday, helped by gains in shares of precious metal miners and energy companies.
* At 9:31 a.m. ET (14:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 24.31 points, or 0.16 percent, at 15,508.86.
