CANADA STOCKS-TSX slips from record high at open as energy stocks drag

Nov 19 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index opened lower on Tuesday, easing from an all-time high hit in the previous session, after a drop in oil prices dragged down energy stocks.

* At 09:36 a.m. ET (1436 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was down 11.91 points, or 0.07%, at 17,013.2.

* The energy sector subindex dropped 0.7%, the most among other major sectors, as crude prices extended their decline on limited progress on the U.S.-China trade deal.

* U.S. crude prices were down 1.8% a barrel, while Brent crude lost 1.4%. (Reporting by Shreyashi Sanyal in Bengaluru; Editing by Rashmi Aich)
