CANADA STOCKS-TSX falls amid increasing signs of economic duress

April 1 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index fell on Wednesday after data showed manufacturing activity in March hit a nine-year low in another sign of the economic damage from the coronavirus outbreak.

* At 9:46 a.m. ET (1446 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was down 392.63 points, or 2.93%, at 12,986.12. (Reporting by Ambar Warrick in Bengaluru)
