Toronto stock index jumps 100 points on financials

TORONTO, July 16 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index jumped 100 points at midafternoon on Wednesday, boosted by financial issues as upbeat quarterly results from Wells Fargo & Co (WFC.N) quelled concerns about the impact of the U.S. credit crisis.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 101.24 points, or 0.76 percent, at 13,458.80. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Peter Galloway)
