UPDATE 2-Toronto stocks soar on commodity strength

TORONTO, April 16 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index surged on Wednesday, boosted by rising commodities, while shares of fertilizer companies benefited from a spike in the price of potash exports to China.
