CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens down on sovereign debt fears

TORONTO, July 18 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock market
index opened lower on Monday as investors fled riskier assets
on growing debt fears on both sides of the Atlantic, though a
record high for gold helped stem the losses.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
.GSPTSE opened down 3.53 points at 13,296.01, before slightly
extending losses
