TORONTO, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock market index was higher in early action on Tuesday after Chinese and euro zone economic data came in less gloomy than feared and some commodity prices firmed.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 48.37 points, or 0.4 percent, at 12,116.73, after opening slightly lower. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
