TORONTO, Dec 20 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index ended with a small gain on Thursday as an advance in materials and tech issues helped offset a slide in banking shares after a session of mixed activity.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 31.68 points, or 0.24 percent, at 13,421.50. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
