TORONTO, Jan 16 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index dropped more than 140 points early on Wednesday, adding to the previous session’s steep losses, as materials and energy issues led a broad decline.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE fell 143.76 points, or 1.1 percent, to 13,173.02 immediately after trading began. It gave up 381 points the day before.
