Toronto stocks taken lower by weak financials

TORONTO, July 28 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index ended lower on Monday following a late-day retreat as financials were hurt by worries over the impact in Canada of fallout from the credit crunch in the United States.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 79.51 points, or 0.59 percent, at 13,299.30. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Peter Galloway)
