Toronto stocks down further on bailout uncertainty

TORONTO, Sept 22 (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange’s main index fell further on Monday, sliding more than 1 percent in a broad retreat on uncertainty over the $700 billion U.S. bailout plan.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 202.63 points, or 1.57 percent, at 12,710.36. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; editing by Rob Wilson)
