TORONTO, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index finished higher in a late-session burst on Thursday as the materials group was lifted by strength in gold issues.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially finished 1.11 percent higher, up 101.30 points at 9,222.62. Five of the index’s 10 main groups were higher.
