The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 17.99 points, or 0.2 percent, to 8,859.47 at the open. Minutes later it was down 34.50 points, or 0.42 percent, at 8,804.21. Five of the TSX’s 10 sectors were lower. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
