CANADA STOCKS-TSX falls at open on oil and weak data

TORONTO, Jan 22 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index tumbled at the open on Thursday as weaker oil prices weighed on the resource-heavy index while the latest data showed further signs of a deteriorating Canadian economy.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE fell 135.47 points, or 1.55 percent, to 8,622.42 at the open. All 10 of the TSX’s 10 sectors were lower. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
