CANADA STOCKS-TSX 8-day rally halted by skidding energy shares

TORONTO, March 20 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index sputtered on Friday, closing lower for the first time in almost two weeks as a fall oil prices shook energy shares while financials cooled further after a massive surge.

The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 165.27 points, or 1.9 percent, at 8,525.22. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
