TORONTO, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index cracked the 11,000-point on Tuesday after flirting near that level for most of the day, boosted by commodity-based stocks as the resource-heavy index played catch-up with global stocks after Monday’s holiday in Canada.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 214.57 points, or 1.99 percent, at 11,001.72. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
