CANADA STOCKS-TSX powered higher at open by gold miners

 TORONTO, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index charged more than 1 percent higher at the open on Tuesday as Goldcorp (G.TO) and other gold-mining shares jumped as gold prices hit a record high.
 The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 124.98 points, or 1.13 percent, to 11,227.60 at the open.  (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
