CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises on oil rebound, shrugs off job data

TORONTO, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock market index closed higher on Friday as investors looked past disappointing employment reports and focused instead on rebounding energy prices.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 61.62 points, or 0.52 percent, at 11,949.13. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
