TORONTO, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock exchange opened higher on Monday, climbing above 12,000 for the first time since September 2008, with a rise in oil and gold prices lifting the resource-heavy index.
At 9:30 a.m. The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 100.69 points or 0.84 percent at 11,893.06. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
