CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower as commodities knocked down

TORONTO, April 8 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index opened lower on Thursday as energy and materials shares were hit by weaker commodity prices.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened 53.31 points, or 0.44 percent, lower at 12,057.59 (Reporting by Claire Sibonney, editing by Peter Galloway)
