CANADA STOCKS-TSX extends slide as commodities retreat

TORONTO, April 13 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index extended losses, falling 1 percent on Tuesday as materials and energy shares were hit hard by slipping commodity prices and a soft earnings report by U.S. aluminum giant Alcoa Inc.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 121.15 points, or 1 percent, at 12,027.51 (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Rob Wilson)
