CANADA STOCKS-TSX ends lower on easing commodity prices

TORONTO, April 13 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index closed lower on Tuesday as materials and energy shares were hit hard by slipping commodity prices and a soft earnings report from U.S. aluminum giant Alcoa Inc.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 46.93 points, or 0.39 percent, at 12,101.73. (Reporting by Jeffrey Hodgson; editing by Peter Galloway)
