CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher as commodities, banks rally

TORONTO, May 18 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index opened higher on Tuesday, led by rallying energy, base metals and financial shares.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 68.42 points, or 0.58 percent, at 11,881.42. It later rose by 1.02 percent. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
