TORONTO, May 19 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index fell on Wednesday at the open on weakness in resource issues and a surprise move by Germany to ban some risky bets aimed at limiting speculative trading.
The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE slid 57.75 points, or 0.49 percent, at 11,706.76. Seven of 10 sectors were lower.
