Toronto stock indices don't update for about an hour

*S&P/TSX indices start updating again at about 12:45 p.m.

*Moves did not register for bit more than an hour

TORONTO, July 30 (Reuters) - Indices on Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE stopped updating for about an hour at midday on Friday.

Real-time moves failed to register at 11:37 a.m. (1537 GMT), said TMX Group Inc (X.TO) spokeswoman Carolyn Quick, noting the TMX’s small-cap TSX Venture Exchange .SPCDNX was not affected.

At about 12:45 p.m., the indices began updating again, the exchange operator said, without citing reasons for the problem.

Quick said trading was not affected by the incident.

In a press release, Standard & Poor’s said it has been unable to provide real-time, intraday levels for several of the S&P/TSX indices due to technical difficulties. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
