CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises after positive U.S. data

TORONTO, Sept 9 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index rose in opening trade on Thursday as favorable U.S. economic data boosted investor sentiment and commodity prices.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 62.48 points, or 0.52 percent, to 12,104.74, shortly after opening slightly negative. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
