CANADA STOCKS-TSX up 100 points on strong commodity prices

TORONTO, April 8 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index rose 100 points on Friday, as strong commodity prices, including a record high for gold, gave a bid to resource shares.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 100.66 points, or 0.71 percent, at 14,208.33. (Reporting by John McCrank; editing by Peter Galloway)
