CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher on commodity strength

TORONTO, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index opened higher on Monday as firm oil and base metals prices helped to boost the index’s hefty resource-linked sectors.

Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 5.98 points, or 0.05 percent, to 11,805.95n. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
