CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher, buoyed by commodities

TORONTO, Oct 13 (Reuters) - Toronto’s resource-heavy main stock index rose at the open on Wednesday as commodity prices got a boost as the Federal Reserve signaled the U.S. economy may need extra stimulus.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 1.06 points at 12,576.70 and then extended gains. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
