CANADA STOCKS-TSX tugged lower but RIM provides support

TORONTO, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index closed a bit lower on Friday as financial, energy and gold shares fell but advancing base-metal miners and solid results from Research In Motion RIM.TO provided support.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 10.56 points, or 0.09 percent, at 12,162.79. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
