TORONTO, April 28 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index was lower in early trade on Thursday, weighed down by energy and financial issues.
The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE ticked higher at the open, then quickly turned lower. It was down 8.06 points at 13,884.51.
The fall was modest as stronger corporate earnings and a rise in some commodities, including gold, offset concerns about the outlook for North American economic growth. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
