Baltimore Ravens rookie kicker Kaare Vedvik is out of the hospital and expected to cooperate with police investigating an apparent assault on him last weekend.

Vedvik was found with substantial facial injuries and bruise on the back of his head in East Baltimore and taken to the hospital early Saturday morning.

The 24-year-old Vedvik, a punter and kicker from Norway who attended Marshall, was placed on the reserve non-football injury list in the aftermath.

The Sun reported that Vedvik was found with “upper body injuries” around 4 a.m. and police were investigating how the injuries occurred, but have yet to find any witnesses.

Vedvik reportedly has said he has no memory of the assault.

Vedvik was not expected to make the team when the rosters were finalized Saturday afternoon because Baltimore has Justin Tucker, a two-time First-Team All-Pro, at the position. But he impressed in the preseason, making a 56-yard field goal in Thursday’s game, and had a shot to be picked up by another team.
