Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is expected to start Monday night’s game against the Houston Texas after being a full practice participant on Friday.
Mariota was limited in practice the previous two days as he recovers from a stinger he suffered in Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. He is listed on the injury report with a neck injury.
“He felt better,” Titans coach Mike Vrabel told reporters. .”.. It looked good today, but that’s why you practice. You try to always improve and get better.
“I would imagine that Marcus is going to be the starting quarterback after being not limited, and full, and probably hope to start.”
Mariota told reporters earlier this week he has had some numbness in his throwing arm, but the injury is not related to the elbow injury he sustained in the season opener against the Miami Dolphins.
That injury caused issues with numbness and grip in his throwing hand for several weeks.
Offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur said he liked what he saw from Mariota on the practice field Friday.
“To be honest with you, I could not tell that anything was wrong. He looked good to me,” LaFleur told reporters. “He was full-go, took all the reps, and he is ready to roll.”
Running back David Fluellen (knee) and offensive tackle Taylor Lewan (illness) missed Friday’s practice.
