Shares in Amaya lower after report casts doubt on Baazov funding

TORONTO, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Shares in Amaya Inc opened lower on Wednesday after a report in the Globe and Mail newspaper cast doubts over the funding of an offer to buy the company by its former chief executive, David Baazov.

The shares were down 0.9 percent in early trading, having fallen by 6 percent on Tuesday.

The report quoted the chief executive of Dubai-based investment firm KBC Aldini Capital, one of Baazov’s apparent backers, as saying his firm had “no involvement” in Baazov’s proposed C$3.65 billion ($2.7 billion) offer to buy the company. (Reporting by Matt Scuffham; Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
