BUZZ-Specialty pharma shares extend this week's sharp gains

** Shares of specialty pharmaceutical names jumped for a 2nd day; Endo International up 8.5 pct is top pct winner in the S&P 500

** U.S.-listed shares of Teva Pharmaceuticals shot up 5.9 pct with Valeant Pharmaceuticals rising 5.6 pct. Mylan adding 4.4 pct

** Investors may be snapping up shares that were pummeled last year amid concerns about drug-price regulations; add in recent upbeat results from Teva, which reported results Mon, and other names also giving reasons to buy, analysts said

** In addition, Appaloosa took stakes in U.S.-listed shares of Teva as well as in Mylan and Pfizer in Q4, according to SEC filings Tues

** Endo, which sank 73.1 pct last year and is down 17 pct so far this year, has gained 13.8 pct just this week

** Meanwhile, Teva up 15 pct WTD, while Valeant has gained 12.3 pct. Both were down sharply for 2016. MYL up 8.2 pct for the week

** Democrat Hillary Clinton criticized drug prices during her campaign for U.S. president, while President Donald Trump last month called on pharmaceutical executives to cut prices
