BUZZ-U.S. STOCKS ON THE MOVE-Linn Energy, RBS, Ballard Power

(For faster updates on individual market-movers, Eikon users please use search string "STXBZ US"; for the Day Ahead newsletter, link.reuters.com/mex49s; for the Morning News Call newsletter, link.reuters.com/nex49s) U.S. stock index e-mini futures rose on Friday, as equities looked to rebound from a sharp decline in the previous session, though moves and volume were likely to remain tepid as the holiday week draws to a close: Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.41 percent at 17,824, S&P 500 futures were up 0.40 percent at 2,060.75 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 0.45 percent at 4,252.

** LINN ENERGY LLC, Wednesday close $10.13, -6.52 pct premarket

** LINNCO LLC, Wednesday close $10.37, -8.58 pct premarket

Oil and gas producer Linn Energy cut its 2015 capital budget by 53 percent to $730 million, joining other oil and gas producers in reducing expenditure in response to falling oil prices.

Linn also said it had reduced its distribution per unit and the dividend per share for subsidiary LinnCo to $1.25 each from $2.90 on an annualized basis.

** BALLARD POWER SYSTEMS INC, Wednesday close $1.98, -9.09 pct premarket

The Canadian fuel-cell products maker said it would miss its 2014 revenue and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) forecast after it terminated two licensing deals. The company also said it would terminate two licensing agreements in China due to material breaches by Azure Hydrogen.

** GENERAL MOTORS CO, Wednesday close $34.91, +0.97 pct premarket

The U.S. automaker began the new year by announcing three new vehicle recalls on Thursday, as the ignition switch crisis continued to dog the automaker after millions of vehicles were recalled in 2014.

** ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND GROUP PLC, Wednesday close $12.11, -1.24 pct premarket
