** OREXIGEN THERAPEUTICS INC, Thursday close $7.25, +13.66 pct premarket

The drugmaker said on Thursday that the European Commission granted marketing authorization to the company’s obesity drug, Mysimba.

** GAMESTOP CORP, Thursday close $38.79, -5.80 pct premarket

The company’s full-year profit forecast missed Wall Street expectations as the dollar strengthened and demand for new PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles failed to make up for falling sales of earlier versions.

** BLACKBERRY LTD, Thursday close $9.3, +1.29 pct premarket

The Canadian smartphone maker posted a fiscal fourth-quarter profit on Friday, offering some signs its turnaround efforts may be beginning to gain traction.

The company reported a net profit of $28 million, or 5 cents a share, in the quarter ended Feb. 28. That compared with a year-earlier loss of $148 million, or 28 cents a share.

** AMAZON.COM, Thursday close $367.35, -0.01 pct premarket

The company is in talks to buy online luxury retailer Net-a-porter in what could be the biggest acquisition yet for the e-commerce giant, but the negotiations are in early stages and could fall apart, Forbes reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.

** CHEVRON CORP, Thursday close $105.25, +0.19 pct premarket

The U.S. energy firm is seeking to sell its entire stake in Caltex Australia Ltd for about A$4.6 billion ($3.6 billion), exiting Australia’s biggest refiner after nearly 40 years as falling oil prices and high costs hurt margins.

** ISRAEL CHEMICALS, Thursday close $7.01

The potash producer said on Friday it had made a C$137 million ($109.50 million) offer to buy Canada’s Allana Potash AAA.TO, a deal it hopes will accelerate development of a mine in Ethiopia.

** GOOGLE INC, Thursday close $563.64

The company said it would pay its new chief financial officer, Ruth Porat, more than $70 million in the next two years through a combination of restricted stock units and a biennial grant.

The company hired Morgan Stanley CFO Porat as its finance chief earlier this week.

** AMERICAN APPAREL INC, Thursday close $0.7199

The former chief executive and founder of the company, Dov Charney, is claiming $40 million in damages for a breach of employment contract, his attorney said.

** APPLE INC, Thursday close $124.24, +0.23 pct premarket

Chief Executive Tim Cook is joining the roster of the very rich who are giving away their wealth.

Fortune magazine cited the head of the world’s largest technology corporation as saying he planned to donate his estimated $785 million fortune to charity - after paying for his 10-year-old nephew’s college education.

The U.S. supplier of residential building products is in discussions to acquire peer ProBuild Holdings Inc for about $1.5 billion, including debt, three people familiar with the matter said on Thursday.

** CNOOC LTD, Thursday close $134.81
